These are fountain pens from the 1950s. Made from Celluloid. They don't make them like this any more, probably because Celluloid is highly flammable. They still make table tennis balls out of Celluloid, but pens are mostly made out of much more boring materials these days.
Celluloid also played a crucial role in the development of still and motion picture photography (early flexible photographic film was made out of the stuff), which is yet another reason I like it. :)
