Happy new year!

This morning was my last chance to photograph comet Lovejoy this year. And it will make a fitting final post for 2011. Many thanks to my good friend Mike, without whom these pics would not have happened. Long story, but let's just say that Mike drove us a LONG WAY away from the coast, trying to outrun the clouds. As it happened I managed exactly three exposures before the clouds caught up with us and put an end to the proceedings. Here are two of them:
